Free STI Testing!!

Sexual transmitted infections (better known as STIs) are a big deal in college, but at the same time we don’t really talk about them. We live in the generation of texting, Facebook, and Tinder where we can get by without actually talking to each other. When it comes to our sexual partners though, knowing your status and knowing their status is essential to having a healthy (AND GOOD) sexual relationship. In fact, 1 in 2 sexually active young people will get an STI before the age of 25. The majority of them won’t even know it.

Testing Thursdays Final

The good news is taking the step in bettering your sex life is super easy, and this week it’s free! SWAT is partnering with the Eau Claire County Health Department and AIDS Resource Center of Wisconsin to provide FREE STI testing for UWEC students! Testing is taking place on Thursday, November 19 from 11am-3pm at Student Health Services in Crest Wellness Center. In addition to walk-in testing, there will be games and prizes.

Getting tested can be a terrifying thing, but again it is essential to having safe, healthy, and overall good sex. It’s important to note that SHS is a safe space, and your sex life isn’t something that will ever be judged. We say it around here all the time; we want you to do whatever you want as long as it’s safe and consensual. In order for it to be safe, get tested!
